Below is a list of activities offered through the Lyndhurst Parks & Recreation Department. You can find information on the Community Pool activities on this website.

For all sports activities, visit your child’s local school website and look for the Parks Department link on the lower left-hand side of the page. General registration information is listed below, however dates are subject to change.


Pool Activities

  • Aquasize classes – Located at the Lyndhurst Community Pool by a Certified Specialist. 12 week sessions held 4 times a year.
  • Pool Membership – We offer a 4 month membership or an annual membership.
  • Swimming Lessons – for ages 4 and up held at the Lyndhurst Community Pool. Eight-week sessions held 3 or 4 times a year.
  • Mommy & Me – for 1 parent with an infant for babies to get used to the water while singing and playing games.

Sports

  • Boys Basketball - Registration held from September through early October offered for grades 2-8.
  • Cheerleading – Registration held in May offered for grades K-8.
  • Flag Football and Football – Registration held in May offered for age 4 for flag football and football for grades 2-8.
  • Girls Basketball – Registration held in October offered for grades 1-2 3-8.
  • Hockey – Registration held in September offered for ages 4-8.
  • LaCrosse – (Instructional) Registration held in February or March and offered to grades K - 8th. Equipment not included in registration price.
  • Little League – Registration usually held in January/February.
    • T-Ball is for boys and girls ages 5 & 6.
    • Juniors is for boys and girls ages 7 & 8.
    • Minors is for boys and girls ages 8-11.
    • Majors is for boys and girls ages 9-12.
    • Senior League is for boys and girls ages 13-16.
    • Softball is for girls ages 5-12.
  • Recreation Volleyball – Offered to grades 5-8. Registration is usually held in September.
  • Soccer – Registration is held in May/June. Offered to grades Pre-K through 8th.
  • Wrestling – Registration takes place in November for grades 1st – 8th.
  • Women’s Volleyball – Registration takes place in August. For ages 18 and older.

Memorial Day Parade

The Lyndhurst Veterans Alliance under the auspices of the Township of Lyndhurst, will be hosting our annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday May 28,  2018.

Assembly will begin at 10:15 AM in front of American Legion Post 139, 217 Webster Avenue.   Pre-Parade solemn ceremonies to commence at 10:30 AM with parade step- off scheduled at 11:00 AM.    The parade will proceed East along Court Avenue, North along Stuyvesant Avenue, East onto Second Avenue, South along Ridge Road, West onto Valley Brook Avenue and conclude at Town Hall Park on Delafield Avenue.

Lyndhurst Youth Soccer Club

Online registrations for our Youth Soccer Program is now opened!

All Lyndhurst School Children born from 2005 - 2012.

All online registrations will require payment with a Visa/MC.

In June TBD we will host open registration sessions if you wish to sign up on forms and/or pay by check.

Music Under the Stars 2018

Join us for the 29th Annual Music Under the Stars from Wednesday, July 11, 2018 through Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Town Hall Park on Delafield Avenue.  See the schedule below.

Before & Aftercare Registration

The Lyndhurst Park and Recreation Department will be hosting registration for Before and Aftercare for the 2018-2019 School Year. The registration dates are Tuesday, May 15, and Thursday, May 17, and again on Monday, July 23, and Wednesday, July 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Parks Department, 250 Cleveland Ave. Any questions call Ann at 201-655-1014.

Summer Day Camp 2018

Registration for Lyndhurst’s Summer Day Camp will begin on Monday, April 23, 2018. Day Camp runs from Monday, July 9, through and including Friday, August 17. The registration fee for six weeks is $300 for the first child, $250 for the second child and $200 for the third or more. Before Care, Aftercare and all activities chosen are additional. Camp location is at the Lyndhurst High School on Weart Avenue between Fern and Forest. Normal hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

This is for Lyndhurst residents only with children in grades Kindergarten through 8th. However, if you are a non-resident and your child attends Sacred Heart School in Lyndhurst your child is eligible for Lyndhurst Day Camp. Please note: the child must be going into Kindergarten this September and must be 5 by July 25, 2018.

Activity booklets will be available at the Parks Department, 250 Cleveland Ave., starting Monday, April 16. After reviewing and filling out the booklet, you may register online at https://register.communitypass.net/lyndhurst, which we highly recommend, or you can come to the Parks Department.

Registration will not be taken before Monday, April 23. Deadline to register is Friday, June 8. A $50 late fee will be charged thereafter and we cannot accept any more registrations after Friday, June 15.
