Elected Officials

Commissioner Robert B. Giangeruso

Commissioner Bob Giangeruso has dedicated his life to the people of Lyndhurst, first as a policeman and today as an elected public servant.  Commissioner Giangeruso rose to Deputy Police Chief before retiring in the late 1990s.  The proud father of two sons, Robert and Shawn, Bob Giangeruso also coached the Lyndhurst Junior Football League for years.  He is also a founding member of the Lyndhurst Italian American Club.  Today, as Public Safety Commissioner, Bob Giangeruso has worked to bring the public safety into the 21st century.  As of 2006, The LPD now has 12 hour shift based scheduling. 12 hour shifts are projected to reduce Lyndhurst Police Department overtime costs and permit Lyndhurst to put more police on the streets per shift to protect our families.
