Elected Officials

Commissioner Brian Haggerty is a 5th generation resident of Lyndhurst.  Brian attended Columbus and Lincoln Grammar Schools and St. Peter´s Preparatory High School in Jersey City. He received his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Monmouth University.  Brian´s father, Paul B. Haggerty, served on the Lyndhurst Board of Education in the 1960´s and 1970´s, as well as two terms as Commissioner from 1989- 1997 as both Public Works Director and Public Safety Director.  In his second term, Brian currently serves as the Director of Public Affairs.  As the former Public Works Director, Brian re-instituted the township´s recycling program and started the Lyndhurst Beautification Commission. His goal was and is to make Lyndhurst the cleanest and most desirable community in which to live.
