Notice from the Department of Public Works
To All Lyndhurst Residents and Businesses
Flushing and Testing of Water Mains

The Lyndhurst Water Department will be testing and flushing all fire hydrants in the Township of Lyndhurst beginning on Monday, April 2, 2018. The hydrants will be flushed weekdays (Monday through Thursday) between the hours of 7 :00 PM and 11 :00 PM, for approximately 4 weeks.

Customers should note that there may be some unavoidable water discoloration and/or low pressure during this flushing period.

The Lyndhurst Water Department assures all customers that the water will be safe for use during this period; however, customers are cautioned to determine if the water is clear before washing clothes, as staining may occur. All restaurants, bars and any other food preparation establishments should take note to turn off any ice making machines during flushing hours and to check to determine if the water is clear before turning equipment back on.

The Lyndhurst Water Department regrets any inconvenience this may cause its customers.
