Lyndhurst Water Rate/Fee Increase

Reason for Increase

• Pay for the replacement of all lead service lines in town due to the signing of A5343/S3398 (requires public community water systems to inventory and replace lead service lines within 10 years; provides for recoupment of costs by investor-owned public water systems) into law in 2021.
   
• Pay for the replacement of all water meters and the meter reading system which are 23 years old.
   
• There was an increase in the bulk water rate that is supplied to the Township from the Passaic Valley Water Commission. Starting on 1/1/2022, wholesale water rates increased by 2% from $2,950.07 per million gallons to $3,009.07.
