The Lyndhurst Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Class 1B Special Law Enforcement Officer. Officers of this class shall be authorized to perform routine traffic details, spectator control, assist during weather emergencies and conduct security checks of township buildings and property.

All officers of this class shall complete training specific to this function as approved by the Police Training Commission. Officers of this class will serve the Township as volunteers, and may be compensated per diem for additional duties that may be approved by the Public Safety Commissioner and authorized by the Chief of Police.
