The Mayor and Board of Commissioners would like to invite all residents to join us for our annual September 11th Memorial Ceremony.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. It is a day for us to come together to remember those who lost their lives, honor the bravery of our first responders, and reflect on the unity and strength of our nation.

As a community, we also remember our Lyndhurst residents who lost their lives on September 11th Gino Calvi, Kenneth Grouzalis, Myoung Lee, and Craig Lilore. We continue to keep their families in our thoughts and prayers.

Year after year, the Township of Lyndhurst has proudly held a memorial service at our 9/11 Memorial Monument in Town Hall Park. It is a tradition that reminds us that we must never forget.

In honor of the 25th Anniversary, this year's ceremony will include the release of butterflies and doves as symbols of peace, hope, and remembrance.

We would especially like to invite our students and young people to attend. Many were not yet born when September 11th occurred, and it is important that future generations understand what happened and why we continue to remember.

We hope you and your family will join us as we come together as a community to honor those we lost and keep their memories alive.
