Lyndhurst Youth Sports Programs...Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer "Go4theGoal" in Support of September Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month

With September being pediatric cancer awareness month, Lyndhurst youth recreation and travel sports teams are participating in a fundraiser Go4theGoal to raise money for pediatric cancer research and patient programs.  Wearing their gold shoe laces, Lyndhurst youth sports programs are showing their support for kids that are battling cancer.

Go4theGoal is a New Jersey-based pediatric cancer foundation whose unwavering mission is to improve the lives of kids that are fighting cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research, and granting personal wishes. Through their first hand experience with pediatric cancer and their medical background, Go4theGoal provides the best practices to patients, their families, and the hospitals and staff that care for them. While based in New Jersey, Go4theGoal supports patients at over 100 hospitals across the country, and funds always stay in the area where they were raised.

The Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer initiative started in 2011 in answer to requests from youth soccer teams in New Jersey that wanted to show their commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer. Today, teams across the country representing every sport from youth to professional have Laced Up in Go4theGoals gold laces to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer.

Before she burst onto the big screen as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Judy Garland was a young vaudeville trouper named Frances Gumm.  In this highly anticipated new musical chronicling Garland’s early career from vaudeville baby to MGM teen star in the making, the road to Oz is paved with adversity.
