Property Maintenance - Code Enforcement
The Property Maintenance – Code Enforcement Division works under the Department of Public Safety. Code Enforcement Inspectors are responsible for enforcing township ordinances, which affect the overall quality of life within the Township of Lyndhurst.
The following is a list of township ordinances that are commonly addressed by Property Maintenance-Code Enforcement Inspectors:
| 8-5.1 | House Numbers shall be at least 2 ½ “ in height and placed on front of home or building |
| 11-1.4 (1a) | Property owners and businesses shall not move snow to, or pile snow, within 5 ft of fire hydrants at the curb or street edge abutting private property |
| 13-5.1 | Maintenance of the Exterior of Premises, Free of Hazards and Insanitary Conditions |
| 13-5.2 | Refuse : brush, weeds, garbage, trash, obnoxious growth and debris must be removed |
| 13-5.7 | Unregistered Motor Vehicles shall not be parked or stored on property and at no time shall a vehicle be in any state of disassembly or disrepair outside an enclosed building. |
| 13-5.8 | Snow shall be removed from sidewalks or public walkways within 48 hours after cessation of snow fall |
| 13-6.2 | Landscaping: Lawn, hedges and bushes shall be kept trimmed and from becoming overgrown and unsightly |
| 22-2.2 | Recycling and Garbage containers shall be put at curb after 6pm the night before your scheduled pickup days |
